Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Subcontracts Lead to drive subcontracting across major infrastructure and utility projects in Australia. The role collaborates with procurement, legal, engineering and project delivery to ensure robust commercial outcomes.

Applicants should have extensive subcontracting or contract management experience, with a strong grasp of Australian contracts and risk allocation. MBA or related qualifications are highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in subcontracting, procurement, commercial management or contract management within major infrastructure, energy, utilities or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian construction contracts and commercial risk allocation.
• Proven track record in reviewing contractual departures and leading commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontracting activities across major infrastructure and utility projects.
• Develop subcontracting strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Lead commercial negotiations and manage contractual risk.
• Collaborate with procurement, legal, engineering and delivery teams to drive commercial outcomes.
