Job summary

Middleby Australia Pty is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Bender to operate turret punch, fabrication and brake press machinery to manufacture sheet metal components per drawings. Responsibilities

• Operate Turret Punch and Brake Press machines safely and efficiently.
• Manufacture sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up machinery and tooling for production runs.
• Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Identify and report defects, machine faults, or production issues.
• Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks during production.
• Assist with fabrication, assembly, and handling of sheet metal products.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine machine checks.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles.
• Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets.
• Complete other duties as directed by the Production Manager.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Bender with hands-on experience operating turret punch, fabrication and brake press machines. This role is responsible for manufacturing sheet metal components to specification, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting production targets in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, be able to read technical drawings, and have demonstrated experience setting up and operating sheet metal machinery within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Turret Punch and Brake Press machines safely and efficiently

Manufacture sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications

Set up machinery and tooling for production runs

Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required standards

Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions

Identify and report defects, machine faults, or production issues

Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks during production

Assist with fabrication, assembly, and handling of sheet metal products

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication within a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated experience operating Turret Punch and Brake Press machines is essential

Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Experience performing quality inspections and measuring fabricated components

Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Reliable, motivated, and committed to meeting production deadlines

Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks and standing for extended periods

Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
