Foxleigh Mine is seeking a motivated Bench Hand to support Drill & Blast operations in Queensland. You will assist with blast preparation, hole loading, and equipment inspections, while upholding a strong safety culture and teamwork.

Ideal candidates will have a valid C class licence, Standard 11 induction and a health assessment, plus experience in open-cut coal mining or similar heavy industry. Commitment to continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Open C Class Driver's Licence.
• Standard 11 Surface Coal Induction.
• Current Coal Mine Workers' Health Assessment.
• Experience in open-cut coal mining or similar heavy industry.
• Ability to follow procedures and work under supervision.

Responsabilités

• Assist with blast preparation and hole loading under supervision.
• Load stemming material and prepare blast holes.
• Assist with explosives loading and tie-in activities under supervision.
• Establish and maintain blast exclusion zones and inspect equipment.
• Maintain blast equipment and conduct pre-use inspections.
• Support inventory management of blast consumables.
• Identify hazards and report opportunities for improvement.

The Role

Foxleigh Mine is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Bench Hand to join our Drill & Blast team. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient preparation and execution of blasting activities across the mine operation.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assist with preparing blast patterns and blast holes for loading activities.
• Load stemming material and support blast hole preparation.
• Assist with explosives loading and tie-in activities under authorised supervision and in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining blast exclusion zones.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and maintain blast equipment, tools and vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Assist with post-blast inspections and clean-up activities.
• Maintain the security and accountability of blasting equipment, accessories and consumables.
• Support inventory management and stock control of blast consumables.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and opportunities for improvement.

About You

• Current Open C Class Driver's Licence.

• Ability to follow procedures and work effectively under supervision.
