Job summary

Fenner Conveyors, a Michelin Group Company in Western Australia, is seeking a skilled Conveyor Belt Technician/Belt Splicer. You’ll install, service, and repair steel cord and fabric belts, prioritising safety and quality. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing precise splicing, and advising customers on installation and operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Conveyor Belt Technician or Belt Splicer, ideally in Trades & Services.
• Strong knowledge of belt systems, splicing, maintenance and repair.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and safety-focused approach.
• Effective communication to liaise with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain steel cord and fabric conveyor belts with safety as a priority.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair conveyor belt systems to ensure uptime.
• Perform belt splicing and joining using specialised techniques and equipment.
• Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting on belts and components.
• Provide technical guidance to customers on belt selection and operation.
• Maintain detailed records of all work and comply with safety standards.

What you'll be doing:

• You’ll play a critical role in installing, repairing, and maintaining steel cord and fabric conveyor belts while ensuring safety and quality are always top priorities.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair conveyor belt systems
• Perform belt splicing and joining tasks using specialised techniques and equipment
• Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor belts and components
• Provide technical expertise and advice to customers regarding conveyor belt selection, installation and operation
• Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken
• Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all relevant safety standards

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a Conveyor Belt Technician or Belt Splicer, ideally within the Trades and Services industry
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of conveyor belt systems, including splicing, maintenance and repair
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to quickly diagnose and resolve issues
• Effective communication skills to liaise with customers and provide technical guidance
• Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications
