Qualifikationen

• Current registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner is required.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, special education, or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering behaviour support plans, ideally with children and young people (2+ years).
• Strong understanding of NDIS behaviour support guidelines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
• Commitment to cultural sensitivity, inclusion and person-centred practice.

Aufgaben

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the underlying causes of behaviours of concern
• Design and deliver behaviour support plans in line with NDIS requirements
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies through direct intervention
• Educate and guide families, caregivers, and staff to foster effective support environments
• Track progress and make informed adjustments using data and observation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to support holistic care
• Respond to crises using evidence-based de-escalation techniques
• Maintain detailed documentation to ensure compliance and quality standards
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in behaviour support
• Advocate for individuals’ rights and meaningful participation in the community
