Co-Support Queensland is a small, newly established behaviour support provider in Brisbane, focused on participant-centered practices and collaborative work with families and support teams. The role involves assessments, plan development, coaching, and advocacy, with documentation aligned to NDIS standards.
Co-Support Queensland is a small, newly established behaviour support provider. We started this business because we believe behaviour support should be done well: with the participant at the centre, with real collaboration with families and support teams, and with practitioners who have the time and support to do their best work.
Our team come with plenty of experience in the community services sector and behaviour support and we have strong relationships with support coordinators and other providers across Brisbane, Moreton and the Sunshine Coast. We receive regular referrals, so if you already have a caseload, you're welcome to bring it with you. If you're looking to build one, we can help with that too.
More than anything, we want to build a team of like’minded, values-led practitioners who put participants first and who want to keep learning and growing. We are looking for practitioners who are already assessed as suitable at a proficient level or above. You might be experienced and ready for more autonomy, or you might be earlier in your behaviour support career and looking for a team that will back you. Either way, we’d love to hear from you.
The work involves:
Completing functional behaviour assessments and developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans with participants, families and support teams
Training and coaching support workers and families to implement strategies with confidence
Working alongside allied health professionals, support coordinators and other providers
Keeping clear, accurate documentation in line with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements
Advocating for participants and making sure their voice is part of every decision
A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. psychology, social work, counselling or similar)
Suitability as a NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner
An understanding of positive behaviour support, trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity-affirming approaches
Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with participants and the people around them
A current driver’s licence and reliable transport
Negotiable hourly rate based on your level of experience, plus superannuation
Support tailored to you. We’ll work with you to understand what you need, whether that’s regular supervision, mentoring, help building your caseload, or simply someone to talk a tricky case through with
Tools to do the job. Access to Microsoft 365 and Splose for client management and documentation as well as a behaviour support practitioner resource library and templates for all non-face to face work
A forward-looking approach. We’re exploring how AI and digital tools can be used safely and ethically to benefit participants, and we may offer access to online training platforms and other tools that support behaviour support training and implementation
A safe, supportive team culture where you can ask questions, share ideas and be part of shaping how we grow
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you need any adjustments or information in a different format during the recruitment process, just let us know.
