Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a network and systems administrator to support the Battlespace Communication System program. The role focuses on Linux administration, system provisioning, and ongoing maintenance of a complex networking environment within an agile team.

You will contribute to infrastructure automation, code reviews, and documentation while collaborating with DevOps and software engineers to improve the development environment and deployment processes.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Linux OS, system administration, virtualization and networking/IP stack.
  • Experience with IP networks: routing, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, subnets, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLAN/VxLAN.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Linux systems administration tasks including user accounts, provisioning, inventory, monitoring and triage.
  • Lead planning, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of a complex networking environment.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure and development environment documentation.
  • Deploy software to the Systems Integration Facility and participate in software deployments.

The OpportunityWe are recruting for a network and systems adminstration professional to join Boeing's Battlespace Communication System (BCS) Program. BCS is a next generation networking product that is the centerpiece for multiple projects and campaigns. The BCS combines both developmental and off the shelf hardware and software to provide world leading communications capability for users. It can be rapidly deployed from anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution that can be customized for various mission needs.We have a range of opportunities available as we plan for future growth.
