Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia invites applications for a Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to support the Battlespace Communication System program in Brisbane. You will apply your expertise in mechanical design, integration and testing across electronic, compute and power subsystems.

Working with multi-disciplinary teams, you will develop engineering documentation, manage configurations and contribute to production drawings and packaging solutions for RF subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or eligible.
• Australian citizenship required for Defence security.
• Experience in mechanical systems design, integration and test.
• Experience with environmental testing, verification analysis and functional assessment of test equipment.
• Experience in writing technical reports and developing documentation for systems integration.
• Proven experience in providing direction within engineering teams to meet project objectives.
• Experience developing production drawings and instructions for assemblies and packaging solutions.
• Ability to develop packaging solutions for RF subsystems and electronics into larger communications systems.
• Knowledge of environmental exposure standards and test practices.
• Familiarity with satellite, radar, tactical communications, or tactical data link systems.
• Exposure to defence standards and MIL-STD specifications.
• Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments.

The Opportunity

We are seeking talented Senior Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to support the Battlespace Communication System (BCS) Program as we plan for future work. This role will see you applying your skills upgrade and integrate our core product with newly developed or acquired products, on a range of platforms. BCS is a next generation networking product that is the centerpiece for multiple projects and campaigns. The BCS combines both developmental and off-the-shelf hardware and software to provide world leading communications capability for users. It can be rapidly deployed from anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution that can be customized for various mission needs.

In this role, you will leverage next generation technology, to support the warfighter in the rapidly evolving threat environment.

• Proven experience in providing direction and/or delegating work effectively within engineering teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Experience in the development of production drawings and instructions for assemblies and packaging solutions.
• Ability to develop packaging solutions for RF subsystems and electronics into larger communications systems and collaborate with mechanical and software teams.
• Knowledge of environmental exposure standards and test practices.
• Familiarity with satellite, radar, tactical communications, or tactical data link systems (e.g. Link 16, SATCOM).
• Exposure to defence standards and MIL-STD specifications.
• Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments.
