Job summary

PKF Perth is seeking an Accountant to join our growing Business Advisory Services team. You will work with Senior Accountants, Managers and Partners, gaining exposure to diverse clients while building your accounting and taxation skills.

We offer CA/CPA study support, modern tech, and a flexible hybrid work arrangement including work-from-home up to two days per week as part of a supportive, collaborative public-practice environment.

Qualifications

• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification in progress, or a willingness to commence.
• 2+ years' experience in business advisory, tax or accounting within a professional services environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks or similar.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, including using technology to improve outcomes for clients and the team.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality client service within a collaborative team environment.
• The ability to take ownership of your work and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A willingness to learn, develop professionally and grow your career within public practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, income tax returns and Business Activity Statements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Perform bookkeeping, reconciliations and month-end accounting activities.
• Complete payroll tax and other compliance obligations within statutory deadlines.
• Analyse financial information and assist clients with accounting and taxation matters.
• Liaise with clients, the ATO and other stakeholders to support client outcomes.
• Manage your workflow and deadlines to ensure high-quality work is delivered accurately and on time.
• Utilise accounting technologies and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
• Continue developing your technical accounting, taxation and advisory knowledge through ongoing learning and professional development.
