Job summary

EVT is hiring a barista for an early-shift role in Canberra. You will deliver exceptional guest service while crafting a range of coffee beverages, from silky flat whites to bold lattes, and operate espresso equipment in a fast-paced hotel setting.

Successful candidates will have at least 6 months coffee experience in hospitality, and flexibility to work the Monday–Friday 6:30am–11am shift. Join EVT and grow your career across entertainment, ventures and travel.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service skills with guests.
• Minimum of 6 months experience preparing and serving coffee in a café, hotel or hospitality setting.
• Flexibility to work the rostered hours above, and capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Master the art of espresso while dazzling guests with charm and a friendly experience, from silky flat whites to bold lattes.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and specialty drinks, following hotel standards.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and grinders, ensuring cleanliness and optimal performance.
• Monitor brewing time, water temperature, and milk steaming for consistent flavour and presentation.
• Manage inventory of coffee beans and supplies, while adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols in a fast paced environment.
