Job summary

Goose Specialty Coffee and Envy Espresso in Cairns is seeking an experienced barista to join our passionate team and deliver high-quality coffee with friendly service. Minimum 1 year of Barista experience in specialty coffee, knowledge of roasting and processing methods, and a strong coffee culture to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

We are seeking an experienced barista to join our passionate and dynamic team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for serving quality cups of coffee with friendly customer service and we are striving for the best specialty coffee experience.

Key responsibilities

Knowledge about different coffee beans, brewing methods, and latte art, and able to maintain a clean and organized workspace

Knowledge of opening and closing a cafe and the appropriate procedures

Able to consistently deliver our specialty coffee to each customer

Preparation of a variety of coffee beverages, adhering to our recipes and high quality standards

Effective and good communication with the customers and the staff

Ensuring the work area are cleaned and presentable

Monitoring the stock level to avoid shortage and waste

Mentoring of the team ensuring efficient workflow

About you

Minimum 1 year experience as a Barista in specialty coffee preparation

Comprehensive understanding in specialty coffee including processing methods, variety and roasting

Knowledge of coffee culture

Ability to work in a busy environment with minimal supervision
