Job summary

Pymble Golf Club in Sydney's NSW seeks an experienced Bar Manager to lead daily bar operations and front-of-house service, working closely with the Kitchen Manager to deliver an exceptional Member and guest experience.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage, train and develop bar staff, oversee beverage costs and monthly reporting, and ensure RSA compliance and safe operation during events and club functions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a bar or food and beverage operation, preferably within a club or premium hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and staff development skills.
• Sound financial knowledge, including beverage costings, gross profit management, rostering and inventory control.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with Members and guests.
• A proactive, organised and hands on management approach.
• A current NSW RSA competency card.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily bar operations and food service, ensuring consistently high standards of Member and guest service.
• Manage, train and develop bar staff, including rostering, performance management and staff development.
• Oversee beverage financial performance, including sales, gross profit, labour costs, stock control, purchasing and monthly reporting.
• Coordinate food and beverage service for Member events, golf competitions, corporate golf days and private functions.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen, golf operations and clubhouse maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and high presentation standards.
• Maintain compliance with RSA, liquor licensing requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands on Bar Manager to lead our bar operations and front of house service, working closely with our Kitchen Manager to deliver an exceptional Member and guest experience.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team, building strong relationships with Members and taking ownership of operational and financial performance.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high service standards, developing our team and contributing to the ongoing success of the Club.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily bar operations and food service, ensuring consistently high standards of Member and guest service.


• Manage, train and develop bar staff, including rostering, performance management and staff development.


• Oversee beverage financial performance, including sales, gross profit, labour costs, stock control, purchasing and monthly reporting.


• Coordinate food and beverage service for Member events, golf competitions, corporate golf days and private functions.


• Work collaboratively with the kitchen, golf operations and clubhouse maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and high presentation standards.


• Maintain compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), liquor licensing requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
