Job summary

YHA Australia, Sydney Harbour YHA, is seeking an energetic Bar Attendant to support bar operations and create a relaxed, fun vibe for guests.

In this role you will engage with guests, serve beverages, assist with pricing and stock, coordinate nightly activities, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety standards. A passion for travel and excellent beverage knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in bar work and a passion for travel.
• Exceptional beverage knowledge across wines, beers, spirits and cocktails.
• Current RSA certification.
• Understanding of ordering and stocktaking procedures.

Responsibilities

• Engaging with guests and performers in the bar.
• Serving food and beverages including cocktails and advising guests on beverage selection.
• Bar operations: assisting Bar Manager with pricing, stock control, ordering, hands‑on management and high standard of customer service.
• Marketing and Promotion: organising nightly activities and entertainment and working with external promoters.
• Compliance: operating in line with the liquor licence, WHS and RSA requirements.

The Job

We are on the hunt for an energeticBar Attendantto support the bar operations and create a relaxed and fun vibe in the bar.

Key focuses will include:

• Engaging with guests and performers in the bar
• Serving food and beverage in the bar including cocktail making and advising guests on beverage selection
• Bar Operations: supporting the Bar Manager with pricing, stock control, ordering, hands‑on management and maintaining the highest possible standard of customer service
• Marketing and Promotion: organising and coordinating nightly activities and entertainment as well as working with external promoters and representatives
• Compliance: operating in line with the approved liquor licence, WHS and RSA requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in a bar and a passion for travel
• Exceptional beverage knowledge, including wines, beers, spirits, cocktails etc.
• A current RSA
• Understanding of ordering and stocktake procedures
• Availability to work a 7-day roster
