Job summary

Bank of Sydney is seeking a Business Analyst to analyse business processes and systems, gather requirements, and recommend improvements. You will work with stakeholders across the organisation to support projects, improve processes, analyse data, document requirements, and assist with system implementation and testing.

Your role includes interviewing and workshops to capture needs, translating data into insights, and creating BRD/user stories and process maps for delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a BA in banking or financial services
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
• Experience with requirements documentation (user stories, BRDs, process flows)
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile, and/or Waterfall methodologies
• Ability to translate complex concepts into simple, actionable insights

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements by conducting interviews, facilitate workshops, and research to capture business needs
• Interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights that support decision‑making
• Collaborate with business leaders, SMEs, developers, testers, and project managers
• Create BRD, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and other artefacts
• Assess proposed solutions, conduct gap analyses, and validate alignment with business objectives
• Assist with test planning, UAT coordination, defect triage, and validation of delivered features
• Support training, communication, and adoption activities for new processes or systems
