Job summary

Shire of Esperance is seeking a Backhoe Operator for Rural Maintenance at the Cascade Depot. You will perform backhoe duties and operate other plant, contributing to road and infrastructure upkeep. The role requires living onsite at remote depots and working 85 hours per week.

Applicants must have an HR license, at least one year backhoe experience, and ability to perform routine maintenance on plant. Applications close will be communicated by the Shire, with pre-employment checks including

Qualifications

• HR class license.
• Minimum one year experience operating backhoe.
• Ability to perform routine mechanical maintenance on vehicular plant.
• Willingness to live onsite in remote depot locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform backhoe duties as directed.
• Operate other plant (bobcat, loader, truck, roller etc) as required.
• Work under limited supervision, individually or in a team.
• Willingness to live onsite at remote depot locations.
