Job summary

Qantas is seeking a Back‑End Developer for its new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide. You will guide the architecture and delivery of backend systems, while remaining hands‑on to produce high‑quality, scalable software that meets security and data privacy standards.

You will work with Java/Spring Boot, AWS cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable services for a global customer base.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a hands‑on Software Engineering role.
• Experience building high‑traffic backend applications.
• Proficiency with backend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring / Spring Boot) and databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• Understanding of cloud‑native development on AWS including deployment, scaling, operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, delivery and development of backend software systems powering the business unit.
• Hands‑on coding to deliver high‑quality, well‑designed software.
• Ensure reliability, performance and data privacy in production systems.
