Umbrella Club is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to drive a large-scale .NET migration programme in Sydney. You will own backend services, REST APIs and data flows across systems.

The role focuses on data migration, SFTP file handling and batch processing, with emphasis on data validation and reliable reconciliation across targets. You will collaborate with platform teams and contribute to testing and cutover activities.

Formación

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with .NET/C#.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL Server skills for data extraction, transformation and reconciliation.
• Experience developing data migration scripts and migration utilities.

Responsabilidades

• Build .NET-based migration utilities, backend services and APIs.
• Develop SQL scripts to support large-scale data migration.
• Process files received via SFTP and load data into target systems.
• Support ETL and batch interfaces during migration.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist migration testing, rehearsals and production cutover activities.

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer - .NET to join our team and contribute to a large-scale system migration programme.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in .NET/C# backend development, REST APIs, SQL Server and file-based data migration, with the ability to build robust migration services and integrate systems through APIs, SFTP and batch processing.

Key Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering, with strong .NET / C# development skills.
• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL Server and SQL skills, including data extraction, transformation and reconciliation.
• Experience developing data migration scripts, utilities and migration services.
• Hands-on experience with SFTP-based file transfers, file ingestion and structured file processing.
• Experience integrating source and target systems using APIs, ETL and batch processing.
• Strong understanding of data validation, integrity, error handling and reconciliation.

What You'll Be Doing
