You will modernise legacy systems, uplift engineering practices, and collaborate with delivery stakeholders to manage risks and dependencies while promoting automated, secure deployment practices.

Qualifications

• NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum.
• Extensive experience developing applications using C# .NET and ASP.NET Core.
• Experience delivering modern web applications using Angular and/or React.
• Strong SQL Server development, optimisation and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience building and deploying applications within Microsoft Azure.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join a major application modernisation and cloud transformation initiative. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to an experienced software engineer who enjoys mentoring developers, solving complex technical challenges, and driving the delivery of modern, secure, cloud-based solutions.

Working as part of a collaborative delivery team, you will provide day‑to‑day technical leadership while remaining actively involved in software development. You will play a key role in modernising legacy applications, uplifting engineering practices, and supporting the transition of enterprise systems to a cloud‑first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess existing applications and define practical modernisation and migration approaches.
• Design, build and maintain modern full‑stack applications using Microsoft technologies.
• Refactor and enhance legacy applications to improve maintainability, security and scalability.
• Develop and support APIs, web applications and backend services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration and deployment issues.
• Contribute to security remediation, technical debt reduction and platform uplift initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching and support to development team members.
• Conduct code reviews and promote high standards of quality, maintainability and security.
• Facilitate technical decision‑making and guide teams towards pragmatic, supportable solutions.
• Work closely with architects to translate solution designs into practical implementation outcomes.
• Collaborate with project and delivery stakeholders to identify risks, dependencies and technical constraints.
• Champion modern engineering practices, automation and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
