Job summary

Melbourne Racing Club is seeking an experienced Azure and Power Platform Engineer to lead our Microsoft technology environment. You will design Azure integrations, build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, and secure a robust hybrid IT setup for racing days and events.

You will report to the Head of Platforms and work with vendors, ensuring reliable, scalable integrations across critical business systems such as POS, Dynamics 365 and Business Central.

Qualifications

• Four or more years delivering Azure integrations and Power Platform solutions.
• Strong Azure administration experience: tenant configuration, security and cost governance.
• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse, including data modelling.
• Hands-on experience building Azure integrations: Logic Apps, Functions, Event Hubs, Service Bus, API Management.
• Strong SQL/PostgreSQL and/or KQL skills with data-centric work.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 and/or Business Central.
• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-104, PL-400 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with platforms team and vendors on integrations and projects.
• Provide tech support for live race days and events during peak demand.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Azure and Power Platform Engineer to lead the development, integration and ongoing support of MRC's Microsoft technology environment.

In this hands-on role, you will build and support solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate. You will also design the Azure integration architecture that connects these solutions through Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs and API Management.

Reporting to the Head of Platforms, you will help ensure reliable integrations across critical business systems, including Upbeat, TASK Point of Sale, H&L hospitality and venue point of sale, Ticketek, Dynamics 365 and Business Central. You will proactively monitor performance, investigate failures and resolve issues before they affect business operations.

In The Saddle

• Design and support Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse solutions
• Build and manage Azure integrations using Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs and API Management
• Administer and secure MRC's Azure environment, including identity, access, resources and cost management
• Manage data flows and integrations across Dataverse, SQL databases and MRC business platforms
• Monitor integrations, troubleshoot issues and carry out root-cause analysis to keep systems running reliably
• Establish Power Platform standards, ALM and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps and infrastructure-as-code
• Work closely with the Platforms team and partner with vendors and consultants on system integrations, projects and continuous improvement
• Provide technology support for live race days and events, helping ensure systems remain secure, reliable and ready during periods of peak demand.

Your Track Record

• A degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
• Four or more years of experience delivering Azure integrations and Power Platform solutions
• Strong Azure administration experience, including tenant configuration, security and cost governance
• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse, including data modelling and business process flows
• Hands-on experience building and supporting Azure integrations using Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Service Bus and API Management
• Strong SQL/PostgreSQL and/or KQL skills, with experience working with data and complex queries
• Technical experience with Dynamics 365 and/or Business Central, along with broader Microsoft technologies
• Microsoft certifications highly regarded - e.g. AZ-204, AZ-104, PL-400 , or equivalent DevOps/Power Platform certificates
