Job summary

Hudson AU is partnering with a leading Australian infrastructure organisation to hire a Senior Solution Architect for Azure and Platform Engineering on a 3-month contract in Perth. The role involves shaping a new Azure Innovation Sandbox, establishing platform engineering capabilities, and guiding architecture and roadmaps across cloud and development teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Platform Architecture or Platform Engineering.
• Extensive Microsoft Azure / Cloud Architecture experience.
• Background in Solution Architecture, translating requirements into designs.
• Experience defining platform roadmaps, standards and governance.
• Hands-on understanding of Azure environments and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the Platform Engineering architecture, roadmap and strategy.
• Establish platform capabilities, standards and technology stack.
• Define platform scope, lifecycle and service catalogue.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to align standards and direction.
• Translate business requirements into high-level and detailed designs.
• Review vendor designs for quality and consistency.
• Provide technical direction to internal and external teams.
• Design and support Azure Innovation/Developer Sandbox establishment.
• Work with Microsoft and partners to deliver the environment.
• Support Azure configuration and implementation activities as needed.
• Assess new technologies and make architectural recommendations.
• Ensure solutions meet security, governance and business objectives.
• Build relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and tech teams.
• Contribute to broader technology strategy and governance.
