Job summary

NTT DATA seeks an experienced Technical Lead to provide technical leadership for secure cloud platforms supporting a Federal Government client. This permanent role requires an AGSVA NV1 security clearance and hands-on leadership of a Cloud Engineering team.

You will own reliability, performance, and security of Azure-based PROTECTED environments, drive automation via IaC and CI/CD, and mentor engineers while coordinating with delivery and operations teams. On-site Canberra work is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical leader with deep cloud expertise and strong people leadership.
• Proven experience designing, delivering, and operating cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure PROTECTED environments.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing or leading cloud or platform engineering teams.
• Strong experience with ElasticSearch in production environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell.
• Experience supporting or developing Java applications on Linux, including performance tuning.
• Proven experience with automated deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Ansible and ARM templates.
• Ability to work full time from client premises in Canberra.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for cloud platforms; ensure delivery and operation of secure, compliant services.
• Guide engineering standards, manage technical risk, and drive automation and resilience initiatives.
• Lead a team including Cloud Engineers, a Java Developer, and a System Analyst; provide direction and mentorship.
• Ensure reliability, availability, performance, and security; meet SLAs and compliance.
• Design and deliver scalable, resilient cloud solutions in Azure PROTECTED environments.
• Oversee infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
• Identify and remediate platform risks and recurring issues; lead incident response.
• Maintain platform health with cloud-native observability tools.
• Engage with client stakeholders; shape solutions and act as senior technical point of contact.
