Job summary

The Recruitment Hive Pty Ltd has an opening for a Lead Azure AI Engineer to deliver production-ready AI and agentic solutions for a major Federal Government department in Canberra. You will build and maintain AI agents, RAG workflows, and intelligent business applications while collaborating on APIs and microservices to integrate AI capabilities with government systems and data sources.

We are seeking expertise in large language models, document classification, and Azure AI service deployments

Qualifications

Experience creating and deploying AI engineering for large language models and document classification.
Production deployment of AI solutions using Azure AI services.
DevOps experience is a plus.
Understanding of the imported cargo pathway is desirable.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain AI agents, RAG solutions, workflow automation and intelligent business applications.
Collaborate on front-end experiences for AI solutions.
Develop and maintain APIs, integrations and microservices to connect AI with departmental systems and data sources.
Design vector search, document intelligence and data ingestion pipelines for AI-powered services.
Conduct AI assurance activities including evaluation, explainability, bias testing and adversarial assessments.
Implement security, privacy and governance controls in line with departmental AI policies.
