Job summary

Opus Recruitment Solutions in Sydney is seeking an experienced AWS Senior Data Architect to join a major technology transformation program. You will work with enterprise architects, project teams and business stakeholders to deliver data outcomes across a large-scale modernisation initiative.

The role focuses on CQRS, event sourcing, data migration from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, and supporting DynamoDB read-models, with a contract through July 2027 at $1,150 per day + GST.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in Data Architecture.
• Strong SQL Server and T-SQL expertise.
• PostgreSQL and JSONB modelling experience.
• AWS platform experience.
• Data migration and transformation delivery experience.
• Knowledge of CQRS and Event Sourcing.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead data quality remediation initiatives across legacy data environments.
• Design and document logical and physical data models.
• Define and execute data migration strategies from SQL Server to PostgreSQL environments.
• Establish data lineage and mapping from source through to target systems.
• Validate event-sourcing and CQRS data models.
• Support DynamoDB read-model and access-pattern design.
• Act as a key liaison between vendors, technical teams and business stakeholders.

Opus are partnering with a respected Australian organisation undertaking a major technology transformation and are seeking an AWS Senior Data Architect to play a critical role in a large-scale data modernisation program.

The Opportunity

Work alongside enterprise architects, project teams, SMEs and technology partners to deliver critical data outcomes across a complex transformation program.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data quality remediation initiatives across legacy data environments.

• Design and document logical and physical data models.

• Define and execute data migration strategies from SQL Server to PostgreSQL environments.

• Establish data lineage and mapping from source through to target systems.
