Bridge IT is seeking an experienced Domain (Data) Architect to support a large Federal Government organisation. This is a senior strategic architecture role responsible for shaping the organisation’s data architecture, target state and strategic roadmap across a complex technology environment. Working across multiple programs and initiatives, you will provide authoritative architectural advice, establish standards and guardrails, and ensure solutions align with broader enterprise architecture, data, security and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain domain-level data architecture, target-state designs and strategic roadmaps.
- Translate business, technology and organisational strategy into clear architectural direction.
- Establish and maintain data architecture principles, patterns, standards and guardrails.
- Provide architectural guidance and assurance across multiple programs, projects and technology initiatives.
- Identify architectural dependencies, risks, gaps and opportunities for reuse across the environment.
- Assess complex architectural issues and provide clear recommendations and options to senior stakeholders.
- Support investment and technology decisions by identifying impacts, dependencies, sequencing and longer-term considerations.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Security Architects, data engineering teams and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to architecture and governance forums and support the resolution of significant architectural decisions and trade-offs.
- Mentor and support the development of broader architecture capability.
To be successful, you will have:
- 8+ years' experience designing and delivering complex enterprise data initiatives and solutions.
- At least 3 years' experience at Principal Architect, EL2-equivalent or similar senior architecture level.
- Strong experience developing enterprise or domain-level data architecture, target states and strategic roadmaps.
- Demonstrated experience establishing architecture principles, patterns, standards and governance across multiple systems or programs.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary enterprise data practices, including Master Data Management (MDM), Reference Data Management (RDM), data modelling, data management and data security.
- Experience resolving complex architectural dependencies and trade-offs and providing evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior executives, governance forums and technical teams.
- The ability to provide strategic architectural leadership across large and complex technology environments.
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience as a Domain Architect, Enterprise Architect, Principal Data Architect or equivalent within Government or another large, complex organisation.
- Experience supporting major cloud or technology transformation programs.
- Relevant architecture certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional certifications.
