Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer for AWS Incident Response to lead high-severity incident calls, triage failures, coordinate resolver teams, and drive mitigation in real time for millions of customers.

You will own operational dashboards, detect trends, improve detection speed, and develop automation to reduce toil, with on-call rotations across weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, or DevOps.
• Experience scripting in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues spanning multiple services.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-severity incident calls end to end and coordinate resolver teams.
• Own and run operational dashboards, metrics, and monitoring.
• Improve detection speed and reduce time-to-mitigation through automation.
• Deep-dive on operational data to identify systemic issues and improvements.
• Mentor peers and drive corrective actions from incidents.
