Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Engineer on AWS Incident Response to lead high-severity calls, triage failures across distributed systems, and drive real-time mitigation for millions of customers. You will build dashboards, surface problems before customers notice, own end-to-end operational processes, and grow your skills through coding projects that accelerate incident response and reduce toil.

You will perform on-call rotations and actively contribute to the incident management ecosystem,

Qualifications

Experience in SRE, systems engineering, or related roles.
Scripting in Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, or modern languages.
Understanding Linux, networking, and distributed systems.
Proven ability to troubleshoot across multiple systems.

Responsibilities

Lead high-severity incident calls end to end with coordination and documentation.
Own and run operational health reviews; build dashboards and monitoring.
Improve detection speed; identify patterns and proactive measures.
Deep-dive operational data to find systemic issues and priorities.
Identify gaps in processes and tooling; reduce time-to-detection.
Apply scripting, automation, and generative AI to incident response.
Work with service teams to close learnings with corrective actions.
Mentor peers in technical and operational areas.
