Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an AV Pre-Sales Engineer in Melbourne to translate client requirements into tailored AV solutions, supporting projects from initial consultation through tender submission and handover.

You will collaborate with sales, project delivery and technical teams, designing AV systems, preparing proposals, BOMs and schedules while keeping up with industry developments.

Qualifications

• Experience in AV pre-sales, AV estimating or similar technical role.
• Knowledge of commercial AV systems: meeting room tech, displays, audio, video conferencing, control systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Experience preparing quotations, BOMs, equipment schedules and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements with clients and stakeholders to design suitable AV solutions.
• Prepare AV system designs, equipment specs, proposals and tender documents.

This is an opportunity for a technically minded professional with experience in audiovisual systems to play a key role in developing tailored solutions for commercial clients. Working closely with the sales, project delivery and technical teams, you will help translate client requirements into practical, cost-effective AV solutions, supporting projects from initial consultation and system design through to tender submission and handover. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and the ability to communicate complex solutions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop suitable audiovisual solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in AV pre-sales, AV estimating, audiovisual system design or a similar technical role.
• Knowledge of commercial AV systems, including meeting room technology, displays, audio systems, video conferencing and control solutions.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience preparing quotations, bills of materials, equipment schedules and technical proposals.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
• A commercially minded approach, with an understanding of project costs, budgets and delivery requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders or opportunities concurrently.
