You’ll work on custom programming, driver development and scripting to push the boundaries of integrated technology, collaborating with project managers and install teams to deliver reliable, intuitive systems.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Audio Visual & Automation Programmer to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded programmer who enjoys developing custom solutions, solving complex problems and pushing the boundaries of integrated technology.

The role goes beyond standard system programming and configuration. You'll be involved in custom programming, driver development, scripting and creating bespoke integrations to bring different technologies together.

You'll work across a variety of premium residential and commercial projects, collaborating with our project managers, technicians and other programmers to deliver reliable, intuitive and innovative systems.

The position is primarily based at our Caringbah office, with occasional site visits for commissioning, troubleshooting and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, configure and customise AV and automation systems, including Crestron, Control4, RTI and Q-SYS.
• Develop custom drivers, modules and software integrations to enable communication between different devices, platforms and systems.
• Write and maintain custom code and scripts to deliver tailored functionality beyond standard manufacturer capabilities.
• Integrate third‑party devices and systems using APIs, IP protocols, serial communication and other integration methods.
• Design and implement intuitive control interfaces and automation workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex programming, networking, hardware and software issues.
• Provide remote technical support and assist with system commissioning when required.
• Work closely with project managers and installation teams to develop and deliver technical solutions.
• Maintain accurate programming documentation, code and system configurations.
• Research and implement new technologies and integration opportunities.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with strong technical capabilities, a problem‑solving mindset and a genuine interest in programming and technology.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Demonstrated experience programming AV and automation systems such as Crestron, Control4, RTI or Q-SYS.
• Experience in custom programming, scripting, driver development or third‑party system integration.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript or Lua.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, communication protocols, AV distribution and system integration.
• Experience working with APIs, TCP/IP, HTTP, JSON, RS‑232 or similar protocols.
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.Strong attention to detail and good documentation practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Experience across all listed platforms and programming languages is not essential. We value strong programming fundamentals, technical curiosity and the ability to learn new technologies.
