Job summary

Mike Carney Toyota in Townsville is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our service team. You will diagnose mechanical and electronic faults, carry out complex repairs, and support apprentices in a purpose-built workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications as automotive technician (Certificate III or equivalent).
• Proven repair experience in passenger vehicles.
• Hybrid or electric vehicle knowledge/certification.
• 5+ years post-trade experience.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
• Additional post-trade certifications.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electronic faults using advanced diagnostic tools and systems.
• Carry out complex repairs, engine work, and component replacements.
• Order parts and liaise with the Parts Department.
• Complete accurate job notes and service records.
• Support and mentor apprentices.
• Stay up to date with Toyota service bulletins and repair procedures.
• Conduct test drives and inspections to ensure quality and guest satisfaction.
