Job summary

Poly 4x4 in Melbourne seeks a motivated motor mechanic for a full-time permanent role in the Service Department. You will diagnose, service and repair vehicles, performing logbook and major/minor maintenance to manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities include diagnosing defects, inspecting post-repair components, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance while delivering excellent customer service. The role requires a Certificate III in Automotive and at least 12 months of experience.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Automotive or higher is required.
• Strong technical skills in vehicle repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defective components using tools like scanning devices as needed.
• Conduct routine maintenance services (major and minor) including logbook services to ensure vehicles meet manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect and test mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper functioning.
• Repair damaged parts and reassemble mechanical components, consulting service manuals as needed.
• Identify health and safety protocols and procedures, including safe handling of hazardous oils, fluids, greases and machinery.
• Maintain, repair and test engines and mechanical systems in lightweight vehicles (suspension, steering, brakes, transmission).
• Adhere to environmental regulations by trapping, storing and disposing of lubricants and fluids per guidelines.
