Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to lead the establishment, implementation and continuous improvement of test automation technologies, frameworks and practices across a portfolio of modern digital solutions.

The role will support solutions including cloud-hosted platforms, mobile applications, CRM portals and web applications, with a strong focus on integrating automation into Agile delivery and DevOps processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend test automation technologies, frameworks, coding languages and automation strategies.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.
• Develop automation covering both UI and backend/API components, with a strong focus on accessibility.
• Establish standards for test code development and automation coding practices.
• Write and maintain automated tests and supporting automation code.
• Support in-sprint automation, acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and Scrum delivery workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement of automation testing practices.
• Support the transition of legacy testing environments towards automation and DevOps practices.
• Identify and manage risks and issues associated with automated testing.
• Leverage AI tools and frameworks to improve testing and engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with Test Managers, Developers and other multidisciplinary delivery team members.

Key Technical Skills

• Deep hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright.
• Strong experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and frameworks, including Claude and specification-driven development approaches such as OpenSpec.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including GitHub and Azure/Azure DevOps.
• Experience developing automation for both UI and backend/API testing.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum and DevOps delivery practices.

What we are looking for:

• Expert hands-on technical proficiency in automation testing, test frameworks and CI/CD across a variety of tools and technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, ownership and a proactive approach to delivery.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or another relevant technical discipline.
• 7–9 years' experience in a senior automation testing role.
• Strong hands-on expertise with AI tools and frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience working within an Agile delivery model.
