Job summary

CircuitHub in Cambridge is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to design, prototype, and deploy automated robotic systems for our Grid PCB assembly platform. You will take concepts through to build, testing, and commissioning in a fast-paced prototype environment.

The role requires experience with fast-paced mechanical design, confidence with 3D CAD, and ability to design and commission machined components within larger subsystems.

Qualifications

• Experience with fast paced mechanical design is essential.
• Confident with 3D CAD and experience designing and commissioning machined components as part of wider subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Design gantries and end effectors in CAD and validate through testing.
• Analyze end effector behavior from video and optimize geometry for reliability.
• Install, commission and debug robots in production environments.
• Manage supplier relationships to facilitate machine builds.
• Troubleshoot wiring cabinets and motor drives.
• Collaborate with build team to ensure safe, fast, and smooth assembly.
