Job summary

Andromeda Robotics in Melbourne is seeking an electronics technician to join our Electronics Engineering team. You will spend your time assembling high density prototype boards, building wiring harnesses, and performing bench-level testing of prototype PCBs and prototype robots.

This hands-on role offers variety, with opportunities to contribute to the development of embodied AI in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as an electronics technician.
Hands-on soldering of through-hole and surface mount components - down to 0402 and 0.5mm pitch.
Capable of reworking assembled PCBs using desoldering tools, pre-heaters and hot-air reflow stations.
Capable of using paste stencils and reflow ovens.
Excellent communication, organisational and computer skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Solid documentation and record keeping skills.
Basic fault finding skills. Identify broken parts, bad solder joints or wiring issues.
Capable of performing initial board bring-up and functional testing of microcontroller-based products, power supplies, battery charger circuits and audio amplifiers.
Capable of mechanical assembly of prototype robots.

Responsibilities

Assemble and test high density prototype electronics products.
