Job summary

CNFiTech Engineering is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Sydney team on major utility and infrastructure projects. You will design, program, test, commission, and support PLC and SCADA systems, with regular site attendance and hands-on involvement in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and handover activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree recognised by Engineers Australia in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• Experience with Siemens S7 platforms, including Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Experience configuring Schneider Electric M580 PLC platforms.
• Sound understanding of industrial electrical systems and ability to read electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, commission, and support PLC and SCADA systems.
• Manage automation and control projects from design through commissioning and handover.
• Develop control system designs, specifications, requirements, and technical documentation.
• Analyse plant and equipment performance to identify automation, reliability, and efficiency improvements.
• Work with electrical, mechanical, process engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects and resolve technical issues.
