Engineering Graduate – Automation & Operational Efficiency

Location: Hanes – Truganina Distribution Centre

Are you a recent engineering graduate with a strong technical foundation and emerging leadership skills? We’re looking for someone with technical capability, a strong sense of ownership, and a natural drive to lead — even if it’s not from a traditional career path yet.

At Hanes, our state-of-the-art Goods-To-Person (GTP) infrastructure sits at the heart of our fulfilment operations. This role is your opportunity to step into a real-time, high-output environment and help us push its performance even further.

In this role, you’ll:

• Optimise the efficiency and uptime of our GTP and automation platforms
• Support preventative maintenance activities and weekday servicing
• Work closely with Engineering, DC Operations and Planning to align labour and automation strategies
• Analyse system and operational data to maximise output and ensure consistent lead times at lowest cost
• Develop and improve scalable processes across low, medium and peak demand periods
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
• Natural leadership qualities — you’ve led a team, even if not yet in the workplace
• A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
• Familiarity with automation systems (e.g. Schaefer/SSI) a bonus
• Strong skills in Excel, data analysis, and clear communication
• Flexibility in adapting to rotating shift (morning/afternoon/night) essential.
