Job summary

Mineral Resources Limited in Weipa, North Queensland, seeks a motivated Heavy Vehicle Technician/Driver to maintain Kenworth C509 road trains (quad or triple trailer) on a 2:1 roster with FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns. The role requires trade qualification and a safe, quality-focused mindset.

Full-time position with opportunities for progression and the MinRes MyShare plan. Applicants must hold an Australian trade qualification and a current driver’s license, and be willing to work rotating day

Qualifications

• Trade qualification recognised in Australia and valid driver's license.
• Experience driving Kenworth T909/T509 with quad or triple trailers.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality of work; able to perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service Kenworth C509 road trains on site in Weipa.
• Support haulage operations with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to company safety policies and Australian work rights requirements.

Job description

The Opportunity

You will play a crucial part within our team supporting our haulage operations by maintaining our impressive fleet of Kenworth C509 Road Trains, equipped with quad or triple configuration side tippers with the latest technology and specifications. This position is based at Weipa in North Queensland. This is a permanent full-time position based on a 2/1 roster with rotating day and night shifts, offering Fly In, Fly Out from Brisbane or Cairns, QLD.

About you

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification
• Current Australian Driver's License
• A strong commitment to safety and quality of work
• Experience on Kenworth T909, T509; Cummins ISX; quad and triple trailer configurations; ideally Howard Porter of Boomerang
• Excellent diagnostic, fault finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
• The ability to perform physically demanding tasks
