Job summary

The Department for Education in South Australia is seeking a Speech Pathologist to support the Autism Inclusion Teacher Initiative across public schools. You will provide expertise in speech, language and communication and assist Autism Inclusion Teachers.

You will develop and deliver evidence-informed professional learning, resources and consultation for over 420 Autism Inclusion Teachers, contributing to inclusive, neuro-affirming practices and improved outcomes for autistic and neurodivergent

Qualifications

• Essential: eligible for full membership to Speech Pathology Australia; CPSP status.
• Desirable: experience using and evaluating AAC with school-aged students.
• Desirable: experience working with families who have children with autism.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise and guidance in speech, language and communication.
• Develop and deliver evidence-informed professional learning, resources and consultation for over 420 Autism Inclusion Teachers.
• Contribute to a capability-building service model and cross-team collaboration to strengthen inclusive, neuro-affirming practices.
• Support AITs to implement strategies promoting communication, participation and learner agency.
