Job summary

The Department for Education in South Australia is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Autism Inclusion team. The role provides guidance on sensory processing, emotional regulation, social skills and movement responsive needs across public schools to build educator capability.

You will help develop and deliver evidence-informed professional learning, resources and consultation to more than 420 Autism Inclusion Teachers, supporting inclusive, neuro-affirming practice and better outcomes

Qualifications

• Current and full registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• Desirable: experience with students in education settings and with families who have children with autism.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to support sensory processing, emotional regulation, social skills and movement-responsive needs.
• Contribute to development and delivery of evidence-informed professional learning, resources and consultation.
• Support Autism Inclusion Teachers across South Australia to implement inclusive, neuro-affirming practices.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to build system-wide capability and positive outcomes for autistic learners.
• Engage with stakeholders to strengthen inclusive education across schools.
