Job summary

RBC is expanding its Australian Equity Research team and is seeking a suitably qualified candidate based in Sydney or Melbourne. The Associate role focuses on fundamental analysis of Australian companies across Global Industrials, supporting Lead Analysts and developing coverage as you progress.

You will build and update financial models in Excel, interpret income statements, balance sheets and cash flows, forecast earnings, and generate research reports.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Business, Commerce, Economics, Maths, Engineering or similar).
• 2–3 years of full-time work experience, preferably in equity research or corporate finance.
• Strong writing and communications skills with executives and IR personnel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Understand companies under coverage, their business models and market environment.
• Build and update company financial models in Excel.
• Link income statement, balance sheet and cash flow items and forecast earnings.
• Update historical financials from public sources.
• Forecast earnings and identify key drivers of profitability.
