Job summary

RBC in Australia is expanding its Equity Research team in Sydney or Melbourne. This Associate role focuses on fundamental analysis of Australian Industrials, building financial models in Excel, and supporting Lead Analysts.

You will forecast earnings, value companies, and generate research reports while maintaining industry data databases. You will interact with company executives and IR teams, travel as needed, and develop toward leading coverage.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with focus on Business, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ full-time work experience, preferably in equity research or corporate finance.
• Excellent writing and communications skills with CEO/CFO/IR interaction.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to source data from multiple sources and summarize clearly.
• Ability to work independently and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Understand companies under coverage, their operations and market environment.
• Build and update financial models in Excel and link core statements.
• Update historical financials from public data sources.
• Forecast earnings and value companies using DCF and multiples.
• Generate high quality research reports and presentations.
• Build and maintain industry data databases.
• Respond to institutional client queries with lead analysts.
• Identify key risks including ESG, macro, and commodity drivers.
