Job summary

MoonPay is seeking a seasoned MLRO to join our Australian team and lead the AML/CTF program. You will act as the regulatory contact, develop and refine our controls, and ensure local and global standards are met.

You will train teams, engage with regulators, and partner with global compliance, legal, and risk groups to build a robust, scalable framework in a dynamic crypto market. This is a remote-friendly, full-time role with competitive compensation and equity.

Qualifications

• Extensive AML/compliance experience, incl. 3+ years as MLRO/DMLRO or compliance officer in financial services, fintech, or crypto.
• Deep understanding of Australian AML/CTF regulations and regulatory landscape.
• Proven experience engaging with regulators, drafting reports, and leading AML/CTF audits.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions and geographies.
• Passion for crypto, fintech, and financial inclusion.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the appointed MLRO in Australia, ensuring full compliance with the AML/CTF Act on Reporting and Use of Certain Financial Transaction Information and related regulations.
• Develop, implement, and continuously enhance MoonPay’s AML/CTF framework, policies, and procedures in Australia.
• Monitor, investigate, and report any suspicious matters to AUSTRAC.
• Provide AML/CTF compliance training to local teams and promote a culture of compliance.
• Partner closely with global compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure consistency across jurisdictions while addressing local regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulators and external auditors on AML/CTF matters.
