Job summary

Accru Melbourne is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead complex engagements, manage a significant client portfolio and help shape the Audit team’s development. You will work directly with Directors and Partners, mentor staff and contribute to divisional strategy and growth opportunities.

You will oversee planning, execution, and sign-off, ensuring high-quality outputs within budgets and timelines while strengthening client relationships and the firm’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of external audit experience.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, commerce or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
• Demonstrated experience leading large or complex audit engagements.
• Experience managing a portfolio, engagement budgets, workflow and billing.
• Strong file review and quality-management capability.
• Track record of developing, mentoring and providing feedback to team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead large and complex audit engagements from planning through to sign-off readiness.
• Manage a substantial client portfolio and budgets; oversee workflow and billing.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients on audit matters.
• Identify significant issues, develop responses and provide clear client advice.
• Ensure engagements are delivered to a high standard within budgets and timeframes.
• Review audit files, financial statements and team output before final sign-off.
• Coach, mentor and provide technical support to team members.
• Lead business development opportunities and contribute to divisional strategy.
