About The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Associate (3+PQE) to join our Technology, Media & Telecommunications team, working closely with Partners Ooma Khurana and Sonia Sharma. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on some of Australia's most significant and complex technology, privacy and cyber matters. You will advise leading public and private sector clients on matters that sit at the intersection of technology, innovation and regulation. The team advises clients on a broad range of technology, privacy, cyber, telecommunications and commercial matters. We act for government agencies, major corporations, technology providers and emerging businesses navigating increasingly complex legal and regulatory environments. The team is recognised for its market-leading expertise in privacy, data protection and cybersecurity, advising on high-profile technology procurements, digital transformation projects and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, biometrics and facial recognition technology.

Role

To succeed and thrive in this role, you will have experience in at least some or all of the following areas:

• Privacy compliance advice
• Cyber /incident response
• Critical infrastructure
• Surveillance laws
• Emerging technologies and digital platforms
• Complex privacy impact assessments and gap analysis
• Policy development and reg compliance

About You

Ideally you will:

• have 3+ years PQE experience in the technology and privacy space, ideally gained within a specialised TMT practice
• have a client-focused approach with a keen interest in understanding the sector’s commercial and regulatory drivers
• have the ability to demonstrate exceptional drafting skills and an eye for detail
• be an independent thinker, comfortable with learning new concepts quickly.
