Job summary

An established IT provider in North Sydney is seeking an Associate Security Analyst to monitor security operations in a 24x7 Security Operations Centre. You will collaborate with experts on incident response and learn through hands-on training and mentorship. Ideal candidates have over a year of experience in security and a passion for cybersecurity. Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in systems, networking or security (MSP experience a plus).
• Curious mind and passion for cybersecurity.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts from MDR technologies.
• Investigate incidents using log analysis, malware analysis and OSINT.
• Collaborate on Purple Teaming exercises to improve detection.

Skills

Experience in systems, networking or security

Understanding of Windows, Linux and Unix platforms

Hands-on with SIEM, EDR or VM tools

Familiarity with the TDIR methodology and MITRE ATT&CK

Strong grasp of IT security controls, OSI model and TCP/IP stack

Education

Completed certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP

The Role

Associate Security Analyst (Watcher) – you’ll be on the front line of our 24x7 Security Operations Centre, monitoring and triaging alerts from industry‑leading EDR and SIEM platforms. You'll collaborate with our Red Team, SOC Engineers and clients to fine‑tune detection capabilities and respond to emerging threats.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Monitor and triage security alerts from MDR technologies
• Investigate incidents using log analysis, malware analysis and OSINT
• Collaborate on Purple Teaming exercises to improve detection
• Research zero‑day vulnerabilities to stay ahead of the curve
• Work closely with senior analysts to support incident response

Requirements

Essential

• 1+ year experience in systems, networking or security (MSP experience a plus)
