About the role

South West Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Unit as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) on a short-term, part‑time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse looking to step into leadership, broaden their experience or build on existing management skills within a supportive and collaborative team environment. The fixed term nature of the role provides an opportunity to explore leadership and gain valuable experience without a long term commitment.

Our Medical Unit provides care to patients requiring acute medical and palliative care.

Working closely with the broader leadership team, you will support the day to day coordination of the unit, contribute to clinical standards and quality patient care, and help maintain a positive and professional working environment. You will also support and mentor staff, contribute to clinical decision making and assist with staff development and the effective management of unit resources. If you are a clinically skilled Registered Nurse with a collaborative approach and an interest in supporting others, this is an opportunity to expand your experience and contribute to the delivery of high quality care for patients and their families.

What you bring
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Relevant clinical experience and completed postgraduate qualifications.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • A commitment to high quality, patient centred care and ongoing professional development.
  • An interest in supporting, mentoring and developing others.
What we offer
  • Excellent salary packaging options including meals & entertainment, novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions
  • Internal and external professional development opportunities
  • Ongoing clinical supervision
  • A range of internal development opportunities focusing on personal development such as resilience and mentoring workshops and comprehensive leadership programs
