Job description

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, this role is responsible for leading a dedicated clinical team within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care in a major tertiary hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that service provision and the activities of the Division / Unit / Ward / Service are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
• Ensure the effective management of human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources to achieve agreed Division / Unit / Ward / Service and strategic plans.
• Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area.
• Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis.

What you need

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
• Demonstrated competence in Emergency Department nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
