Job summary

St John of God Geelong Hospital seeks an experienced Associate Midwifery Unit Manager to lead our Women and Newborn Services team. You will coordinate maternity services, provide clinical leadership, and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

The role is permanent part-time (0.59 FTE) with responsibilities across Birth Suite, Postnatal and Special Care Nursery, including staff deployment and quality improvement involvement.

Qualifications

• Registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and operational support across Birth Suite, Postnatal and Special Care Nursery.
• Monitor staffing levels against budget/targets and adjust as needed in consultation with the Unit Manager.
• Lead the team in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager and act as a role model and resource person.
• Contribute to quality improvement and risk management across the service.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high‑quality, woman‑centred care.
