Job summary

AECOM in Adelaide is seeking an Associate Director – Project Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex defence, research and nuclear facilities. You’ll provide architectural leadership across multidisciplinary teams, from concept through to delivery, balancing safety, regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement.

The role offers hybrid work options, relocation support where needed, and the chance to influence critical infrastructure programs within a global, award-winning firm.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in Architecture with AUKUS registration.
• Experience on safety-critical, defence or nuclear facilities.
• Understanding of Defence design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading project architecture teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and delivery of defence, research, nuclear facilities.
• Act as Project Architect ensuring design intent and high-quality outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design across architecture, structure, services.
• Translate regulatory requirements into robust design responses.
• Oversee design development, docs and compliance with Defence, NCC, IAEA.
• Lead client/stakeholder engagement and drive delivery excellence.
