Michael Page is representing a global engineering consultancy client seeking an Associate Director - Mechanical to lead data centre projects across Australia and APAC. You will mentor engineering teams, oversee HVAC and building services design, and drive delivery, risk management and client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes regional business development, stakeholder engagement and engineering excellence within a fast-growing, international portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) is essential.
• Proven data centre design and delivery experience is essential.
• Extensive experience leading mechanical engineering teams on complex projects.
• Strong expertise in HVAC systems and multidisciplinary building services design.
• Commercially astute with experience managing budgets, schedules and project risk.
• Strong client-facing skills with experience developing business and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering complex data centre projects.
• Oversee mechanical and HVAC design development, technical reviews and quality assurance.
• Drive project delivery, programme performance, risk management and commercial outcomes.
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, fire protection and public health disciplines.
• Monitor project financial performance, invoicing and change management processes.
• Act as a senior client interface across key stakeholder and technical meetings.
• Support regional business development, proposals and client relationship management.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation and engineering excellence across project teams.
