Job summary

The Lottery Corporation in Brisbane, Australia is seeking an Associate Data Operations Engineer to join our Data Platforms Operations team. This early-career role suits someone with strong technical foundations, a curiosity to dig into data, and a willingness to learn.

You’ll keep data pipelines running, respond to alerts, and help automate and monitor data workflows across cloud and on-prem platforms.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in Data Operations or similar.
• Strong SQL and data issue investigation.
• Experience with cloud like AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with data pipelines and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Keep data pipelines and ETL processes running reliably.
• Investigate data, reporting and platform issues.
• Use SQL to query and troubleshoot data.
• Respond to alerts and triage platform incidents.
• Improve monitoring, runbooks and operational processes.
• Identify opportunities for AI-enabled automation.
• Support cloud, Kubernetes and legacy data platforms.
• Work with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build capability across Confluent and event streaming.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call roster when established.
